I wonder how these people will behave after they lose?

We know that they won't "riot." But they might attempt this.

I think we will definitely see the return of the militias or some equivalent. The only question is whether they will target only Obama, or choose softer targets like federal office buildings and day care centers...

Gun sales are up in my home state of Texas. Gun lovers are worried that if elected, Obama might ban assault weapons. I wonder how many belong to extremist militia groups.

Funny how both sides of the political spectrum seem to think they're both somehow more enlightened then the other side.
Selectively quote something, extrapolate one incident to represent the whole population, demonize the other side, "oh, we're not like them, we have higher IQ's/higher level of morality", blah blah blah.....
I wonder how these people will behave after they lose?
At least Theodore Dalrymple only blames Paris Hilton, according to you. But you blame "these people"! Wow, an even higher level of political thought! So, if someone uses "these people" when referring to non-whites, it's "Racist", but when you use it, it's sophisticated political discourse!
I wonder how many belong to extremist militia groups.
Funny, I seem to recall that same sentiment expressed about members of a certain religion, ever since September 11, 2001. But again, when you do it, it's not quite "the same thing", right?
The only question is whether they will target only Obama
And if someone "knocked off GWB" that would be OK, right? After all, he's "an idiot", unlike "our guy" Obama?
Don't worry, when nothing happens, you can still twist reality to fit into your world view. After all, you're not so much different from those on the "right" that you despise so much.

Okay Wade, I won't "wonder" aloud. Funny it is not. I will repeat something I have heard first hand from a Texan who supports Obama. She told me that in her small Texas town, people openly say that while they themselves won't assassinate Obama, they certainly wish someone else will take a shot at him.
And where did Vicki say anything about knocking off GWB? You are the one who is extrapolating like crazy here.

Wade:
"These people" could mean like, you know, "these people shouting 'bomb obama'." Not all McCain supporters, just those ones.
Or how about Hillary supporters who want to cut off the head of "that Ayrab"?

Scared yet?
Maybe it's time to open the bottle of vin santo, you don't need a glass.

Wade, the the sheer number of biscotti you must have scarfed down, and the numberless liquid ounces of vino santo that must have traveled down the red lane since you began visiting 3QD, are staggering to me. I myself marked your probable intake until a few days ago, when I stopped counting. I think maybe it's time for some broccoli -- ask the cook to do it al dente, okay?

You're worried about 2nd hand gossip you've heard from a friend? That's a reliable source? Why don't you voluneer your info to the FBI if you're so confident of this information?
Let me guess - the FBI is part of the conspiracy also, right?
Scared yet?
No, not at all. Not of your make believe paper tiger "militias" that you say will "return"? Where exactly did Billy Bob and Cletus go all these years? I didn't even realize they were gone. And I'm not much scared of the lunatics on the left either, the ones that fantasize about GWB or whatever it is they dream up at night.
Maybe it's time to open the bottle of vin santo, you don't need a glass.
No vin santo this week. It's Halloween, and I usually like amontillado sherry, it reminds me of the Edgar Allan Poe story.
Maybe you should take up drinking, since you all seem to think there are right wing militia members hiding in your closets. Remember, it's just as absurd of a thought as those on the right who think Obama is going to start shipping off white people to PC re-education camps to have their brains washed.

Actually Wade, the FBI probably already knows. Which is why Obama received Secret Service protection earlier than any other presidential candidate during this campaign.

Wade, it would take more than a couple of shots of Wild Turkey for me to buy into your theory that American history teaches that a fear of lynch mobs and extremist militias is on a par with fears that an Ayrab with a forged birth certificate is going to send Republicans to PC re-education camps.

So, you're saying that the American people's so-called fear of Arabs and specifically Moslem Arabs (I'm well aware there are Christian Arabs, so don't even try that tactic!) after 9/11/2001, is much worse and more irrational than your fear of "right wing lynch mobs and extremist militias"?
Both fears are simply two sides of the same coin. I hope you'd rather be proven wrong, then hope something happens so you can gloat and be proven correct.

***After all, he's "an idiot", unlike "our guy" Obama?***
Wade: hasn't anyone taught you the proper function of scare quotes? You're probably one of those guys who uses "literally" inappropriately, too.

Dude, has someone been slipping something into your vin santo? Since when is being afraid of an angry mob shouting "Kill! Kill! Kill!" on a par with being afraid of the nice man at the felafel stand because he's an Ayrab?
