From the West Virginia Surf Report:
Each item was purchased, taken home, and photographed immediately. Nothing was tampered with, run over by a car, or anything of the sort. It is an accurate representation in every case. Shiny, neon-orange, liquefied pump-cheese, and all.
Many more such comparisons here.
hats off for such an investigation. it was funny and at the same time exposing the lies on which our consumer fanatic society is growing.
cheers!

And now it's extended to Sushi advertisements! Some of you may not care about this at all, but in my past experience, any and all sushi restaurants that had a picture menu would provide something similar to that picture. At least they would use the same ingredients and try to replicate the arrangement in the same fashion. I recently found a new sushi joint that doesn't even include all the ingredients- or even the MAIN ingredient as shown in the pic. I got a salmon roll with NO SALMON!!!! This is no way to live. >:<

Did you know they use watery white glue as the "milk" in cereal pictures because it photographs better?

Check the photography on habeasbrulee.com and other food blogs. Much more satisfying.
