Given his family's background, he hardly has populist roots and to scoff at capitalism as the source of all evil is to ignore what seems to drive most people no matter what their religious backgrounds, and thus to imagine that his example of murder upon a civilian population is hardly going to convince us to turn to Islam for salvation and a moral way of life. And yes, he is not all there is to Islam but he has become an important figurehead for the worst side of it.
I love the way "the simple life" has still managed to convince his handlers to dye his beard and trim it a bit for a better image on the tube!
At least there were no commercials for this, the new season, of his show.

With endorsements from Chavez and now OBL, it seems Noam Chomsky's capital is falling. Too bad. I rather liked Chomsky's books and commentaries and found myself agreeing with him.
"I couldn't tear myself
away from 3 Quarks Daily, to the point of neglecting my work. Congratulations on
this superb site."—Steven
Pinker, Johnstone Professor of Psychology, Harvard University.
"I have placed 3 Quarks Daily at the head of my list of web bookmarks."—Richard
Dawkins, Charles Simonyi Professor of the Public Understanding of Science at Oxford University.
"Just wanted you to know I’m one of many who reads and enjoys 3 Quarks....almost daily."—David Byrne, musician, former lead-singer of the Talking Heads, artist, intellectual.
