I think this (along with the stupid comments people have left) shows how messed up the world really is. No one would want a fat Barbie. It helps prove how image obsessed this world really is!

I don't know. To neolithic hunters she would be really hot, as evidenced by Venus of Willendorf from about 23,000 years ago. I must say, though, I think the Barbie doll school of contemporary art is getting really, really tired.

OMG How could you do something like that?

Your so sick

I mean really SICK

I love barbies i look up to her so badly.

SHE IS MY ROLE MODEL AND YOU GO AND ABUSE HER YOU SICK SICK PEOPLE.

How can you do such a thing.

Wow, what a statement. But we don't think beautiful when we see fat, do we? Or graceful? I don't think we know the meaning of the word. And for all ya'll saying 'OMG' get a life. If you have the time of day to comment on art then you have time to spell everything out.

Posted by: mkthpn | Mar 12, 2008 10:01:37 PM

I think this artwork is an amazing depiction of the image society has given us and that we like sheep have just excepted and followed just because because your beautifulk on the outside doesn't mean your beautiful onb the inside. beauty is an all round thing. It is amazing how many women put themselves through hell to look like BARBIE. It is also amazing how this image is forced on children from age five... now that's what is sick not this artwork society.

i may say that is terrifying but i do like what it stands for lol.
barbie is far to skinny and is inprinting in young girls minds that riddulasly thin is good which is very very bad
i hate barbies personal lol i find this quite gross but oddly amusing.

Posted by: gallo | Mar 23, 2008 8:24:34 PM

she looks so ugly she looks fat and she is she is overwaited contsapated

Posted by: julia | Mar 24, 2008 12:16:14 PM

I view this barbie as our society to day, as i agree with most of the other comments below. Todays generation is over redunant with the popularity and that being "skinny" is considered "perfect"- that is false beyond belief. The other comments on here only go to show how drasticly pretentious the world is today, and i'm kind of sad for having to be a part of it...... :(

would'nt you agree ?

Posted by: hateyourself | Mar 28, 2008 2:44:07 PM

For all of the people that are trying to justify obesity, you need to loose weight (for your health, not your image). Most of the people justifying the obesity are the ones who cannot spell correctly. Proofread anyone? People don't need to be skinny for appearance, they don't need to be obese so they don't get diabetes, hypertension, atherosclerosis and conjestive heart failure. Quit trying to make excuses for the thirty cheeseburgers you inhaled at lunch!

tsk tsk you can see her muff tsk tsk

Look guys. Why is everyone freaking out? Barbie is cool. If people wanna be thin or fat it is their choice. It is when we impose our will on others, that the world becomes a cruel place. If everyone would have smoked a small joint before they read this, I doubt the comments would be as judgemental. BASICALLY, WHO GIVES A FUCK. PEOPLE ARE GOING TO DO WHAT THEY WANT TO DO. Smoke up and you will see that Barbie is a government issued ploy to get the younger children of the 1950s to not end up like the older Rockabilly loving "DELINQUENTS". Anyway Barbie exists, fat people exist, thin people exist and unfortunately the government exists. We need to deal with it or REBEL...
