I love Noam Chomsky, why the fuck did he agree to be interviewed by that asshole ? Doesn't he know who that guy is ? A quick google search would have told him. I can't believe he didnt vet who was interviewing him.

Um, maybe because Chomsky has a sense of humor and appreciation for the absurd? Seriously, I'm not a huge fan -- a little Ali G goes a long way on the outrageous "humor" spectrum -- but Da G has his moments. One of his best was an interview a few years ago with the then-head of the United Nations, Boutros-Boutros. B-B handled his interviewer with ease, diplomacy, and winking good humor. The entire segment was charming...

Thanks for this Robin. By the end Chomsky is smiling, which suggests to me that he might have been in on the joke from the beginning, certainly by the end. I've always found Chomsky to be a dour and humorless guy. Have to say I was impressed by his range. Go Noam!

Chomsky didn't know who Ali G is because he doesn't watch TV. Also, Chomsky didn't look Ali G up because from what I understand, Chomsky says yes to every single interview request, which is partly why he's constantly booked two years in advance.

Excellent interview. Laughing my a$$ off.
